Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weightlifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is available to all students, faculty and staff.
We have both garage and street parking available. The garage is gated. No stacked/tandem parking. Parking is Free!

Security at the College Courtyard Apartments is a priority. All of our entrances are under 24 hour video surveillance. We've installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

As the Spring Semester comes to an end, it is time to start focusing on final exams and papers. It is imperative that all of you do well on these undertakings. A quiet study atmosphere is necessary for everyone to do their very best. Please be considerate of the other residents of the College Courtyard and keep noise to a minimum so that everyone can concentrate and succeed.

Location, location, location. There is nothing like the location of the College Courtyard Apartments. We are a half block from the campus and yet we are on a quiet side street. While living at the College Courtyard you can actually get up five minutes before class and still make it on time. No worries about catching a shuttle or trying to find a parking space when you live at the College Courtyard. This is just one more reason this is a great place to live.
Interesting Fact: A cluster of bananas is called a “hand.” Along that theme, a single banana is called a “finger.”
Parking is Free and Easy
As many of you know, the University of Nevada continues to increase the parking fees on campus. The University has parking fee increases scheduled every year for the next five years. Fortunately, the residents of the College Courtyard Apartments don’t have to worry about these increases. Our residents enjoy free parking that is close to the campus. Our parking is the equivalent of Silver Reserve Permit parking and is a $740 value. With our students, instead of driving round and round looking for a parking space or waiting for a shuttle bus you can have another 20 minutes of precious sleep. That’s a real bonus and another benefit of living at the College Courtyard.
Please Don’t Drink and Drive
For your safety and the safety of others, please don’t drink and drive. Your futures are too bright to be wasted by a DUI or worse. Get a designated driver, walk or call a taxi but please do not get behind the wheel of a car while under the influence.

No Hover Boards
Until a safe hover board is manufactured, they are banned from the College Courtyard Apartments. These devices have proved to be dangerous——especially when being charged. Having a hover board in your apartment could lead to eviction.
Interesting Fact: Elvis was originally blonde. He started coloring his hair black for an edgier look. Sometimes, he would touch it up himself using shoe polish.
Need Storage For The Summer?
The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $35 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Natalie for more information.

A vacuum is available for your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office. Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to use it.

The Wiegand Fitness Center is a short walk from the College Courtyard Apartments. This $47 million facility is a great amenity for all University of Nevada students.
No Smoking
The College Courtyard Apartments are non-smoking student residences. Smoking is prohibited in the apartments, on the walkways, balconies and the courtyard. Guests entering the apartments with a cigarette may extinguish them in the urns by the front gate.
Laundry Rooms
Please be considerate of your neighbors and do not leave your clothes in the washers or dryers unattended after the washing and drying cycle.
Interesting Fact: If you cut down a saguaro cactus in Arizona, you can be charged with a class-4 felony and penalized with jail time.
Look Both Ways
It is very important that all of you be careful when crossing Sierra Street. Even though the crosswalk is well marked many drivers are speeding or not paying attention to pedestrians. Make sure you use the flashing lights by pressing the button.

The safety of our residents is of the highest priority. The College Courtyard Apartments are under 24-hour video surveillance and all entrances are gated. You can do your part to make sure the College Courtyard Apartments are a secure and safe place to live. Never give your key or garage transmitter to others. Please report any damage or repairs that may be necessary to maintain safe conditions. That would include lights out in the common areas, parking garage, stairwells, front entrance and laundry rooms. We also ask that whenever possible you walk in groups and never alone at night. The escort service number is 784-6808.

Is a $740 Value
Parking at the University of Nevada is expensive. Silver
permit parking is really expensive. The annual fee to park in a reserved silver
permit lot is $740. The parking lot at the southwest corner of Sierra and 11th
is silver permit parking. Right across the street is the College Courtyard
Apartments. Our residents enjoy the value of silver permit parking for free. Go to unr.edu and find the parking permit and
fee map to compare. Most of the new student apartments are now charging for
both covered and uncovered parking. Not us!

During the cold winter months, it is important that the windows in the laundry rooms remain closed. Open windows may cause the pipes to freeze and cause considerable damage. This will force us to close the laundry rooms until they are repaired. None of us want that to happen so please be careful.

Some of our neighboring apartment complexes (to the east and north) have stacked/tandem parking. One car is parked in front of the other. During the winter months we make every effort to keep the sidewalks and stairs free of snow and ice. Never the less, please use caution after a storm. Use the handrails on the stairs and step carefully when on the sidewalk to the north of the building as it is steep and gets little sun.
The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $35 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Phyllis for more information.

The Wiegand Fitness Center is a short walk from the College Courtyard Apartments.
The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weightlifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is available to all students, faculty and staff.

Security at the College Courtyard Apartments is a priority. All of our entrances are under 24 hour video surveillance. We've installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

If notice is not received by February 1, 2025, we will assume that you intend to vacate your apartment when your lease expires and we will begin the process of leasing it to new students. Parking at the University of Nevada is expensive. Silver permit parking is really expensive. The annual fee to park in a silver reserved permit lot is $740. The parking lot at the southwest corner of Sierra and 11th is silver permit parking. Right across the street is the College Courtyard Apartments. Our residents enjoy the value of silver permit parking for free. Go to unr.edu and find the parking permit and fee map to compare. Parking at other student apartments can be from $540 to $1,300 a year and that’s if any parking is available.

During the cold winter months, it is important that the windows in the laundry rooms remain closed. Open windows may cause the pipes to freeze and cause considerable damage. This will force us to close the laundry rooms until they are repaired. None of us want that to happen so please be careful.
Interesting Fact: Red Solo cups are a common souvenir to bring back from the United States. The novelty comes from the cups being used in many party scenes in movies.

The area in front of the dumpster is a no parking zone. Cars parked in the area in front of the dumpster are subject to towing. In addition, Waste Management writes down the license plate number of cars that block the dumpster and violators may have to pay for additional garbage pickups.
