Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weightlifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. Tour The Property
Every July, the owners and management of the College Courtyard Apartments do a complete tour of the property to see what may be needed to improve the apartments during our annual “Flip Week” in August. Of course, we will give you advance notice and we are in the apartments just long enough to determine what each unit may need to keep it a great place to live.

Street Parking
If you park on Seminary Street, remember to pick up your new street parking permit from the office. The permits issued last year expired on June 30, 2026. Permits will only be given to students who have signed a new lease. Students who park on the street and will be leaving in August will be given a spot in the garage. We don’t want to you get a ticket so please stop by the office and get your new permit.
Loading Zone
Please be aware that the parking enforcement officers for the City of Reno will ticket cars that are parked in our loading zone for long periods of time. This ticketing will be done regardless of whether or not the car has a Seminary Avenue parking permit. This strict parking enforcement is being done at the request of the Postal Carriers, as they do not like restricted access to the building. All residents of the College Courtyard Apartments should appreciate this enforcement as it allows a convenient loading and unloading area for you, family and friends.
Message from Natalie
July rent is now due. If you are leaving us in August, pay only half of the July rent as we will apply your last month’s rent to the rest of the July and the first half of August. If you are staying with us, thank you, and pay the full amount as normal.

Parking is Free and Easy
As many of you have heard, the University of Nevada continues to increase the parking fees on campus. The University has parking fee increases scheduled every year for the next five years. Fortunately, the residents of the College Courtyard Apartments don’t have to worry about these increases. Our residents enjoy free parking that is close to the campus. With our students, instead of driving round and round looking for a parking space you can have another 20 minutes of precious sleep. That’s a real bonus and another benefit of living at the College Courtyard.
No Hover Boards
Until a safe hover board/ebike is manufactured, they are banned from the College Courtyard Apartments. These devices have proved to be dangerous——especially when being charged. Having a hover board in your apartment could lead to eviction.

Vacuum
A vacuum is available for your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office. Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to use it.

Need Storage For The Summer?
The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $35 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Natalie for more information.
Please Don’t Drink and Drive
For your safety and the safety of others, please don’t drink and drive. Your futures are too bright to be wasted by a DUI or worse. Get a designated driver, walk or call an Uber but please do not get behind the wheel of a car while under the influence.

Watch the Gate
Please be very careful when driving through the garage gate. If the gate is going down, DO NOT try to slip under the gate. Once the gate begins to go down it will not stop if you press the button on the garage gate opener. It will only stop when it hits something and it could do considerable damage to both your car and the gate if this occurs. The gate is set to stay up an adequate amount of time for one car. You will be held responsible for any damage if the camera shows that you tried to slip through the gate inappropriately.
Laundry Rooms
Please be considerate of your neighbors and do not leave your clothes in the washers or dryers unattended after the washing and drying cycle

It is very important that all of you be careful when crossing Sierra Street. Even though the crosswalk is well marked many drivers are speeding or not paying attention to pedestrians. We are pleased the City of Reno has added new flashing lights at the crosswalk!

No Beer Kegs
Beer kegs are strictly forbidden at the College Courtyard Apartments. Kegs are not allowed on the courtyard or in individual apartments. All of your leases clearly state that large gatherings are prohibited. Kegs are only for large gatherings. Please be aware that if you bring a keg onto the property, we will begin eviction proceedings immediately

Please keep in mind that many of the residents of the College Courtyard Apartments are taking summer classes. These classes are very intense and the need for a quiet study environment is important. I would also like to thank each of you for your cooperation and special effort in helping to keep the complex clean during the pandemic. We continually strive to keep the complex clean, quiet and safe for all of our residents. Have a great summer and be safe!!

Garbage Tossing Is Not Sport
Please be considerate and do not throw your garbage from the stairwell landing towards the dumpster. Many times, your aim is not on target and a mess is created. This is both unsightly and unsanitary. We would appreciate your cooperation

Please be advised that we are no longer accepting summer resident sublets.
Interesting Fact: The world’s first motel is in San Luis Obispo, which was built in 1925. When opened, it cost $1.25 for a two-room bungalow with a kitchen and a private adjoining garage.
Gate/Intercom System
At the College Courtyard, every student has an app that allows them to view and open the gate with their smart phone. Delivery companies such as Prime, UPS and FedEx will have delivery codes so they can open the gate. A camera will monitor every person who comes through the gate and save it to the cloud.

Please be considerate of your neighbors and do not leave your clothes in the washers or dryers unattended after the washing and drying cycle.
Please be very careful when driving through the garage gate. If the gate is going down, DO NOT try to slip under the gate. Once the gate begins to go down it will not stop if you press the button on the garage gate opener. It will only stop when it hits something and it could do considerable damage to both your car and the gate if this occurs. The gate is set to stay up an adequate amount of time for one car. You will be held responsible for any damage if the camera shows that you tried to slip through the gate inappropriately.

The Summer?
The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $35 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Natalie for more information.

The College Courtyard Apartments are non-smoking student residences. Smoking is prohibited in the apartments, on the walkways, balconies and the courtyard.
A vacuum is available for
your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office.
Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to
use it.

and Drive
For your safety and the safety of others, please don’t drink and drive. Your futures are too bright to be wasted by a DUI or worse. Get a designated driver, walk or call a taxi but please do not get behind the wheel of a car while under the influence.

Boards
Until a safe hover board is manufactured, they are banned from the College Courtyard Apartments. These devices have proved to be dangerous——especially when being charged. Having a hover board in your apartment could lead to eviction.

The Wiegand Fitness Center is a short walk from the College Courtyard Apartments.
The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weightlifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is available to all students, faculty and staff.

Some of our neighboring apartment complexes (to the east and north - OK, College Terrace) have stacked/tandem parking. One car is parked in front of the other. Can you imagine needing to go somewhere and the owner of the car behind you is nowhere to be found? That won't happen at the College Courtyard. All of our residents have single garage or permit street parking.
Security is Important at the College Courtyard Apartments.
Security at the College Courtyard Apartments is a priority. All of our entrances are under 24 hour video surveillance. We've installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

As the Spring Semester comes to an end, it is time to start focusing on final exams and papers. It is imperative that all of you do well on these undertakings. A quiet study atmosphere is necessary for everyone to do their very best. Please be considerate of the other residents of the College Courtyard and keep noise to a minimum so that everyone can concentrate and succeed.

Location, location, location. There is nothing like the location of the College Courtyard Apartments. We are a half block from the campus and yet we are on a quiet side street. While living at the College Courtyard you can actually get up five minutes before class and still make it on time. No worries about catching a shuttle or trying to find a parking space when you live at the College Courtyard. This is just one more reason this is a great place to live.

As many of you know, the University of Nevada continues to increase the parking fees on campus. The University has parking fee increases scheduled every year for the next five years. Fortunately, the residents of the College Courtyard Apartments don’t have to worry about these increases. Our residents enjoy free parking that is close to the campus. Our parking is the equivalent of Yellow Reserve Permit parking and is a $620+ value.
