Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, dresser, desk and chair. Each bedroom has a full closet. Each bedroom is wired for cable TV and telephone. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the building.

The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weight lifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8^thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

Message from Phyllis

 

As the semester winds down, all of the students in the College Courtyard Apartments will be focusing on final exams and papers. Please be considerate of your fellow residents who are “burning the midnight oil” and limit excess noise, loud music/TV and there are to be no parties. I especially want to thank each of you for your cooperation and special effort in helping to keep the complex clean. We continually strive to keep the complex clean, quiet and safe for all of our residents. Happy holidays to each of you and may all of you get A+ on your final exams.

 Watch Your Step

 

As winter arrives, we must be ready for inclement weather and especially snowstorms. Please be careful and watch your step if a snowstorm should occur. We shovel snow and sand the sidewalks and steps after every storm but you should be cautious never the less. The sidewalk on the north side of the building gets little sun in the winter and the steep hill can be treacherous. Please be careful.

 Minimum Temp

 

Per your lease, the minimum temperature in your apartment is 60 degrees. This insures that the pipes do not freeze in extreme cold weather. You will be liable for damage if this temperature minimum is not maintained.

Vacuum

 

A vacuum is available for your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office. Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to use it.

 

Interesting Fact: It takes 570 gallons to paint the exterior of the White House.

Laundry Rooms Don’t Like Cold Weather

During the cold winter months it is important that the windows in the laundry rooms remain closed. Open windows may cause the pipes to freeze and cause considerable damage. This will force us to close the laundry rooms until they are repaired. None of us want that to happen so please be careful.

Interesting Fact: The voice actor of SpongeBob and the voice actor of Karen, Plankton’s computer wife, have been married since 1995.

 . Please Don’t Drink and Drive

 

Your safety is important to us. Please don’t drink and drive. If you drink alcohol (please be 21 years of age and older) get a designated driver or walk home. Don’t ruin your life with a DUI or worse, death of yourself or others. It’s not worth it.

The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $30 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Phyllis for more information.

You can do your part to make sure the College Courtyard Apartments are a secure and safe place to live. Never give your key or garage transmitter to others. Report any damage or repairs that may be necessary to maintain safe conditions. That would include lights out in the common areas, parking garage, stairwells, front entrance and laundry rooms.

 

Interesting Fact: Octopuses and squids have beaks. The beak is made of keratin – the same material that a bird’s beak, and our fingernails are made of.

 

No Beer Kegs

Beer kegs are strictly forbidden at the College Courtyard Apartments.  Kegs are not allowed on the courtyard or in individual apartments. All of your leases clearly state that large gatherings are prohibited. Kegs are only for large gatherings. Please be aware that if you bring a keg onto the property we will begin eviction proceedings immediately.

Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weight lifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8^thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is available to all students, faculty and staff. 

We have both garage and street parking available (your choice). The garage is gated. No stacked/tandem parking. Parking is Free!

 

The College Courtyard Apartments are one short block from the center of campus. No waiting for a shuttle (that never comes when you need it) or paying for expensive parking permits where the parking is still miles from your class.

Some of our neighboring apartment complexes (to the east and north - OK, College Terrace) have stacked/tandem parking. One car is parked in front of the other. Can you imagine needing to go somewhere and the owner of the car behind you is nowhere to be found? That won't happen at the College Courtyard. All of our residents have single garage or permit street parking. In the garage or on the street...it's the student's choice.

Security is Important at the College Courtyard Apartments.

Security at the College Courtyard Apartments is a priority. All of our entrances are under 24 hour video surveillance. We've installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

•Each bedroom has a sink and vanity. No waiting for your roommate to get ready.

•We have very well insulated apartments with double pane windows. This keeps the power bill low both in the summer and the winter. 

•We pride ourselves in keeping the building in great condition. 

•We are locally owned and operated by University of Nevada graduates - not some faceless corporation or out of the area owner.
