It's a Crowded Bedroom At the Argenta Hall Dorms

The Argenta Hall dorm at the University of Nevada is putting three students in each bedroom. That means a crowded room and three people being forced to share one bathroom.
At the College Courtyard Apartments, our residents enjoy a private bedroom that is not shared with other students. In addition each bedroom has its own sink and vanity.
In so many ways we are a better value and choice than the dorms. Remember, it is not necessary to live in the dorms if you are a freshman.

The College Courtyard Apartments are one short block from the center of campus. No waiting for a shuttle (that never comes when you need it) or paying for expensive parking permits that are still miles from your class.

Cheaper than the Dorms - And so much more in amenities

The 2010 University of Nevada dorm rates have once again gone up. A single room is now $6,100 for the fall and spring semesters and the cheapest mandatory food card is $3,175. All of this expense must be paid in advance of each semester. The College Courtyard is a great value. At $435 a month, our residents get to stay in their apartments for 12 months (the dorms kick you out in May). A full year at the College Courtyard is almost $900 less than the nine months in the dorms---not including the food card.......and we have great kitchens with dishwashers and microwave ovens. Our DSL is free and our apartments spacious and furnished. There's more....our parking is equivalent to Silver permit parking and it is FREE. A Silver permit at UNR is $380 per year.In this economy, there's no better place for students than the College Courtyard Apartments.Visit us and reserve your spot. Call for more information at 775-786-1150.

No Stacked Parking at the College Courtyard Apartments

Some of our neighboring apartment complexes (to the east and north - OK, College Terrace) have stacked parking. One car is parked in front of the other. Can you imagine needing to go somewhere and the owner of the car behind you is nowhere to be found? That won't happen at the College Courtyard. All of our residents have single garage or permit street parking.

Our Parking is a $380 Value - Just One Block From Campus

Parking at the University of Nevada is expensive. Silver permit parking is real expensive. The annual fee to park in a Silver permit lot is over $375. The parking lot at the southwest corner of Sierra and 11th is Silver permit parking. Right across the street is the College Courtyard Apartments. Our residents enjoy the value of Silver permit parking for free. Go to unr.edu and find the parking permit and fee map to compare. No need to worry about a shuttle bus to get to class at the College Courtyard. We're a block from the center of campus-- not a mile and a half in a dark and dangerous neighborhood like some of our competitors

Security is important at the College Courtyard Apartments

Security at the College Courtyard Apartments is a priority. All of our entrances are under 24 hour video surveillance. Recently we installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

  • The College Courtyard Apartments are the best for University of Nevada student living. Here' s a few reasons why:
We are on a quite side street on the West side (the best side) of the University of Nevada. Seminary Avenue is quiet with little traffic (unlike very busy and noisy Sierra Street).
  • You don't need to worry or pay for shuttle service. The shuttles to some apartment complexes are expensive and only come infrequently.
  • No stacked parking. Each resident of the College Courtyard has an assigned parking space or open streetside parking. Our neighboring apartment complex (College Terrace) has stacked parking - one car behind the other. Very inconvenient.
  • Each bedroom has a sink and vanity. No waiting for your roommate to get ready.
  • Free DSL.
  • We have very well insulated apartments with double pane windows. This keeps the power bill low both in the summer and the winter.
  • We pride ourselves in keeping the building in great condition. We are locally owned and operated by University of Nevada graduates - not some faceless corporation or out of the area owner.
  • There's a reason the College Courtyard Apartments are always full. We have great students as residents. Google our competitors. One was ordered by the City of Reno to hire security guards as there were so many unruly parties. No wonder they slashed their prices. Ask to walk around the complex of our neighbors without being escorted. Sure the model rooms look good.....check out where you really will live. Some don't even shampoo the carpets before you move in. Yes, you get what you pay for. There is a reason we are considered the premier off campus place for University of Nevada students. We offer the best value, location and amenities for the student dollar. And we are nice people too. We appreciate our residents and want them to truley enjoy their college experience.

Useless Fact: Verona, the Italian city where Shakespeare's play lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters every year sent to Juliet on Valentine's Day.

More Uselessness: The term "white chocolate" is a misnomer. Under Federal Standards of Identity, real chocolate must contain chocolate liquor. "White" chocolate contains no chocolate liquor.

Street Parking

If you park on Seminary Street, remember to pick up your new street parking permit from the office. The permits issued at the beginning of the spring semester expired on June 30, 2010.Permits will only be given to students who have signed a new lease. Students who park on the street and will be leaving in August will be given a spot in the garage. We don’t want to you get a ticket so please stop by the office and get your new permit.

Message from Rebecca

We have a few apartments still available for the 2010/2011 University of Nevada school year. If you have any friends who may be looking for an apartment we are a great choice. With the price of gas now days, it’s great not to have to drive to school. Parking is also a plus as it is free and easy. Compared to the dorms we are a great value and we offer amenities that can’t be beat. To see all we have to offer go to our blog at collegecourtyard.blogspot.com.

Useless Fact: When the Mayflower was no longer of use, they took it apart and recycled it as a barn.

Parking is Free and Easy

As many of you have heard, the University of Nevada continues to increase the parking fees on campus. The University has parking fee increases scheduled every year for the next five years. Fortunately, the residents of the College Courtyard Apartments don’t have to worry about these increases. Our residents enjoy free parking that is close to the campus. With our students, instead of driving round and round looking for a parking space you can have another 20 minutes of precious sleep. That’s a real bonus and another benefit of living at the College Courtyard.

Useless Fact: Dried and smoked jalapenos are chipotles, generally known in a class of their own.

Snacks Available

As you study for your exams does the grumble of your stomach keep you from concentrating? A quick snack can help you quell those hunger pangs. New snack and drink machines are available in the first floor laundry room. It’s quick, easy and convenient.

Useless Fact: Sushi was created in the 4th century BC in China, not Japan as many believe. Sushi was originally a means of preserving fish.

Vacuum

A vacuum is available for your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office. Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to use it.

More Useless Facts: Once an aluminum can is recycled it can be part of new can within six weeks.

Need Storage For The Summer?

The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $25 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Rebecca for more information.

Please Don’t Drink and Drive

For your safety and the safety of others, please don’t drink and drive. Your futures are too bright to be wasted by a DUI or worse. Get a designated driver, walk or call a taxi but please do not get behind the wheel of a car while under the influence.

Useless Fact: To match the orange hue of cheeses made with milk from cows that eat green plants, carrot juice (vitamin A) is added to cheddar made with winter milk from cows that only get hay.

Useless Fact: The "middle finger" gesture originates back to 423 BC in Aristophanes play "The Clouds".

Summer Residents

Please be advised that if you sublet your apartment during the summer you must have prior approval from management.

Watch the Gate

Please be very careful when driving through the garage gate. If the gate is going down, DO NOT try to slip under the gate. Once the gate begins to go down it will not stop if you press the button on the garage gate opener. It will only stop when it hits something and it could do considerable damage to both your car and the gate if this occurs. The gate is set to stay up an adequate amount of time for one car. You will be held responsible for any damage if the camera shows that you tried to slip through the gate inappropriately.

Useless Fact: Solid waste disposal is the third largest municipal government expense after police protection and education.

Laundry Rooms

Please be considerate of your neighbors and do not leave your clothes in the washers or dryers unattended after the washing and drying cycle

No Stacked Parking

Some of our neighboring apartment complexes (to the west and north) have stacked parking. One car is parked in front of the other. Can you imagine needing to go somewhere and the owner of the car behind you is nowhere to be found? That won't happen at the College Courtyard. Look Both Ways

It is very important that all of you be careful when crossing Sierra Street. Even though the crosswalk is well marked many drivers are speeding or not paying attention to pedestrians.
