The Wiegand Fitness Center is a short walk from the College Courtyard Apartments.
The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is a vibrant hub of the campus fitness and recreation, offering a gymnasium with three courts for intramural basketball and other court sports, areas for weightlifting, cardio training, and a multitude of fitness classes and activities. Additionally, it has an indoor, 1/8thmile track and stadium stairs for training. Finally, there are lockers and changing rooms and administrative office spaces. The E.L. Weigand Fitness Center is available to all students, faculty and staff.
We have both garage and street parking available. The garage is gated. No stacked/tandem parking. Parking is Free!

Some of our neighboring apartment complexes (to the east and north - OK, College Terrace) have stacked/tandem parking. One car is parked in front of the other. Can you imagine needing to go somewhere and the owner of the car behind you is nowhere to be found? That won't happen at the College Courtyard. All of our residents have single garage or permit street parking.
Security is Important at the College Courtyard Apartments.
Security at the College Courtyard Apartments is a priority. All of our entrances are under 24 hour video surveillance. We've installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. Google some of the party apartment complexes in the area and see the police calls. Would you want your son or daughter living in that environment (at night?)? We don't think so.

The College Courtyard Apartments are the best for University of Nevada student living. Here's a few reasons why:

•No stacked/tandem parking. Each resident of the College Courtyard has an assigned parking space or open street side parking. Our neighboring apartment complex (College Terrace) has stacked parking - one car behind the other. Very inconvenient. Our parking is FREE!
•Each bedroom has a sink and vanity. No waiting for your roommate to get ready.
•Free DSL/WiFi.
•We have very well insulated apartments with double pane windows. This keeps the power bill low both in the summer and the winter.
•We pride ourselves in keeping the building in great condition.
•We are locally owned and operated by University of Nevada graduates - not some faceless corporation or out of the area owner.
There's a reason the College Courtyard Apartments are always full. We have great students as residents. Google our competitors. One was ordered by the City of Reno to hire security guards as there were so many unruly parties. Ask to walk around the complex of our neighbors without being escorted. Sure the model rooms look good.....check out where you really will live. Some don't even shampoo the carpets before you move in. Yes, you get what you pay for. There is a reason we are considered the favorite off campus place for University of Nevada students. We offer the best value, location and amenities for the student dollar. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEES LIKE MOST OF THE STUDENT HOUSING COMPLEXES AROUND UNR. And we are nice people too. We appreciate our residents and want them to truly enjoy their college experience.

Residents wishing to stay at the College Courtyard after their current lease expires must inform Natalie by February 1, 2025. If notice is not received by February 1, 2025, we will assume that you intend to vacate your apartment when your lease expires and we will begin the process of leasing it to new students. Parking at the University of Nevada is expensive. Silver permit parking is really expensive. The annual fee to park in a silver reserved permit lot is $740. The parking lot at the southwest corner of Sierra and 11th is silver permit parking. Right across the street is the College Courtyard Apartments. Our residents enjoy the value of silver permit parking for free. Go to unr.edu and find the parking permit and fee map to compare. Parking at other student apartments can be from $540 to $1,300 a year and that’s if any parking is available.
During the winter months we make every effort to keep the sidewalks and stairs free of snow and ice. Never the less, please use caution after a storm. Use the handrails on the stairs and step carefully when on the sidewalk to the north of the building as it is steep and gets little sun.
Interesting Fact: Lettuce is a member of the sunflower family.
No Hover Boards
Until a safe hover board is manufactured, they are banned from the College Courtyard Apartments. These devices have proved to be dangerous——especially when being charged.

of bananas is called a “hand.” Along that theme, a single banana is called a
“finger.”
During the cold winter months, it is important that the windows in the laundry rooms remain closed. Open windows may cause the pipes to freeze and cause considerable damage. This will force us to close the laundry rooms until they are repaired. None of us want that to happen so please be careful.
Interesting Fact: Red Solo cups are a common souvenir to bring back from the United States. The novelty comes from the cups being used in many party scenes in movies.
Free Wi-Fi is a $540+ Value
In this economy, every dollar saved can help pay for books and tuition. That’s why living at the College Courtyard Apartments is the best value for University of Nevada students. We offer free Wi-Fi to every bedroom. That free Wi-Fi would cost you $540 per year at other apartment complexes or rental houses.
The area in front of the dumpster is a no parking zone. Cars parked in the area in front of the dumpster are subject to towing. In addition, Waste Management writes down the license plate number of cars that block the dumpster and violators may have to pay for additional garbage pickups.
Per your lease, the minimum temperature in your apartment
is 60 degrees. This ensures that the pipes do not freeze in extreme cold
weather. You will be liable for damage if this temperature minimum is not
maintained.

The location of the College Courtyard Apartments is the best for students. We are on a quiet side street, just one block west of the University of Nevada campus.

Your safety is important to us. Please don’t drink and drive. If you drink alcohol (please be 21 years of age and older) get a designated driver or walk home. Don’t ruin your life with a DUI or worse, death of yourself or others. It’s not worth it.
The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $35 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Phyllis for more information.
