•No stacked/tandem parking. Each resident of the College Courtyard has an assigned parking space or open street side parking (Your choice). Our neighboring apartment complex (College Terrace) has stacked parking - one car behind the other. Very inconvenient.

•Each bedroom has a sink and vanity. No waiting for your roommate to get ready.

•Free DSL/WiFi.

•We have very well insulated apartments with double pane windows. This keeps the power bill low both in the summer and the winter.

•We pride ourselves in keeping the building in great condition.

•We are locally owned and operated by University of Nevada graduates - not some faceless corporation or out of the area owner.

Your Free Parking Is a $400 Value

Parking at the University of Nevada is expensive. Silver permit parking is real expensive. The annual fee to park in a silver permit lot is $400. The parking lot at the southwest corner of Sierra and 11^th is silver permit parking. Right across the street is the College Courtyard Apartments. Our residents enjoy the value of silver permit parking for free. Go to unr.edu and find the parking permit and fee map to compare.

Watch Your Step

During the winter months we make every effort to keep the sidewalks and stairs free of snow and ice. Never the less, please use caution after a storm. Use the handrails on the stairs and step carefully when on the sidewalk to the north of the building as it is steep and gets little sun.

Please Don’t Drink and Drive

Your safety is important to us. Please don’t drink and drive. If you drink alcohol (please be 21 years of age and older) get a designated driver or walk home. Don’t ruin your life with a DUI or worse, death of yourself or others. It’s not worth it.

Snacks Available

As you study for your exams does the grumble of your stomach keep you from concentrating? A quick snack can help you quell those hunger pangs. A snack and drink machine is available in the first floor laundry room. It’s quick, easy and convenient.

.Laundry Rooms Don’t Like Cold Weather

During the cold winter months it is important that the windows in the laundry rooms remain closed. Open windows may cause the pipes to freeze and cause considerable damage. This will force us to close the laundry rooms until they are repaired. None of us want that to happen so please be careful.

Interesting Fact: Not all your taste buds are on our tongue (10% are on the insides of you cheeks).

Need More Storage Space?

The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $25 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Phyllis for more information.

In this economy, every dollar saved can help pay for books and tuition. That’s why living at the College Courtyard Apartments is the best value for University of Nevada students. We offer free DSL to every bedroom. That free DSL would cost you $360 per year at other apartment complexes or rental houses.

No Parking

The area in front of the dumpster is a no parking zone. Cars parked in the area in front of the dumpster are subject to towing. In addition, Reno Disposal writes down the license plate number of cars that block the dumpster and violators may have to pay for additional garbage pickups.

Minimum Temp

Per your lease, the minimum temperature in your apartment is 60 degrees. This insures that the pipes do not freeze in extreme cold weather. You will be liable for damage if this temperature minimum is not maintained.

2017/2018 School Year

Residents wishing to stay at the College Courtyard after their current lease expires must inform Phyllis by March 1, 2017. If notice is not received by March 1^st we will assume that you intend to vacate your apartment when your lease expires and we will begin the process of leasing it to new students. Thank you for choosing us as your home.

Watch the Gate

Please be very careful when driving through the garage gate. If the gate is going down, DO NOT try to slip under the gate. Once the gate begins to go down it will not stop if you press the button on the garage gate opener. It will only stop when it hits something and it could do considerable damage to both your car and the gate if this occurs. The gate is set to stay up an adequate amount of time for one car. You will be held responsible for any damage if the camera shows that you tried to slip through the gate inappropriately

Our living rooms include a futon, end tables, coffee table, TV stand and lamp.

Our kitchens include range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and pantry. Our kitchens also have a table and four chairs.

Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, dresser, desk and chair. Each bedroom has a full closet. Each bedroom is wired for cable TV and telephone. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the building.

Recently we installed additional gates and barriers to make the complex even more secure. At night the College Courtyard Apartments are very well lit and there are no dark corners. We encourage our residents to monitor carefully who is buzzed into the courtyard. We are a friendly place to live with just 60 students. Unlike the 700 student party complexes on the far east side of the University, we offer a great environment for the serious student seeking a safe and secure place to live. As the semester winds down, all of the students in the College Courtyard Apartments will be focusing on final exams and papers. Please be considerate of your fellow residents who are “burning the midnight oil” and limit excess noise, loud music/TV and parties. I especially want to thank each of you for your cooperation and special effort in helping to keep the complex clean. We continually strive to keep the complex clean, quiet and safe for all of our residents. Happy holidays to each of you and may all of you get A+ on your final exams.

No Beer Kegs

Beer kegs are strictly forbidden at the College Courtyard Apartments. Kegs are not allowed on the courtyard or in individual apartments. All of your leases clearly state that large gatherings are prohibited. Kegs are only for large gatherings. Please be aware that if you bring a keg onto the property we will begin eviction proceedings immediately.

Homecoming 2016

The University of Nevada Reno will be celebrating Homecoming October 17 to October 22, 2016. Show your Wolf Pack pride by wearing silver and blue all week long. Wolves Frolic will be at the Joe Monday October 17^th at 7pm. The Undie run will be Tuesday at 9pm at the Joe. The Pack Pride Pageant will be Wednesday at 7pm at the Joe. Thursday is Fear Factor Day at 2-5pm in front of the Joe. The Wolf Pack parade of lights and march from the Reno Arch to the University Quad will be Friday October 21st at 7:00pm. There will be a pep rally at 7:30pm. On Saturday the University of Nevada football team will host Wyoming at Mackay Stadium at 1:00pm.

Be a Good Neighbor

The goal of all of the residents of the College Courtyard Apartments is to achieve a quality education at the University of Nevada. An atmosphere that is conducive for studying is imperative. Please be considerate of your roommates and neighbors and keep noise to a minimum. We will not tolerate loud or large parties on the Courtyard or in the apartments and will take appropriate action against those residents who violate the noise rules.

Vacuum

A vacuum is available for your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office. Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to use it.

The Courtyard is a great place to catch some rays or relax. Please remember to lower the umbrellas after use and keep the area clean. We will keep the patio furniture on the courtyard until the end of the month.

Garbage Tossing Is Not Sport

Please be considerate and do not throw your garbage from the stairwell landing towards the dumpster. Many times your aim is not on target and a mess is created. This is both unsightly and unsanitary. We would appreciate your cooperation.

As the seasons begin to change a sudden winter storm is always a possibility. Please be careful and watch your step if a snowstorm should occur. We shovel snow and sand the sidewalks and steps after every storm but you should be cautious never the less. The sidewalk on the north side of the building gets little sun in the winter and the steep hill can be treacherous. Please be careful.

Reserved Parking

Only residents may park in the garage and only in their assigned spaces. Cars that are parked in spaces not assigned to them will be booted and there is an $80 fee to remove the boot. If someone is in your assigned parking space call 691-8290 and a boot will be placed on the car. It is your responsibility if you change cars or have a different license plate number to inform Phyllis. If your license number is not on file in the office your car may be booted.
