Message from Natalie

As the semester winds down, all of the students in the College Courtyard Apartments will be focusing on final exams and papers. Please be considerate of your fellow residents who are “burning the midnight oil” and limit excess noise, loud music/TV and there are to be no parties. I especially want to thank each of you for your cooperation and special effort in helping to keep the complex clean. We continually strive to keep the complex clean, quiet and safe for all of our residents. Happy holidays to each of you and may all of you get A+ on your final exams.

 Watch Your Step

As winter arrives, we must be ready for inclement weather and especially snowstorms. Please be careful and watch your step if a snowstorm should occur. We shovel snow and sand the sidewalks and steps after every storm, but you should be cautious nevertheless. The sidewalk on the north side of the building gets little sun in the winter and the steep hill can be treacherous. Please be careful.

Minimum Temp

Per your lease, the minimum temperature in your apartment is 60 degrees. This ensures that the pipes do not freeze in extreme cold weather. You will be liable for damage if this temperature minimum is not maintained.

Vacuum

A vacuum is available for your use. If you wish to borrow our vacuum it can be checked out at the office. Please return the vacuum immediately after use, as other students may need to use it.

Interesting Fact: The Lego Group is the world’s most powerful brand. There are more Lego Minifigures than there are people on Earth.

Laundry Rooms Don’t Like Cold Weather

During the cold winter months, it is important that the windows in the laundry rooms remain closed. Open windows may cause the pipes to freeze and cause considerable damage. This will force us to close the laundry rooms until they are repaired. None of us want that to happen so please be careful.

Interesting Fact: 75% of the world’s diet is produced from just 12 plants and five different animal species.

Please Don’t Drink and Drive

Your safety is important to us. Please don’t drink and drive. If you drink alcohol (please be 21 years of age and older) get a designated driver or walk home. Don’t ruin your life with a DUI or worse, death of yourself or others. It’s not worth it.

Need More Storage Space?

The College Courtyard has storage lockers available for rent for only $35 per month. The 4’ by 5’ lockers are located on the second and third floors. These storage lockers are a great place to store skis, bicycles, or camping equipment. See Natalie for more information.

Free Wi-Fi/DSL is a $540+ Value

In this economy, every dollar saved can help pay for books and tuition. That’s why living at the College Courtyard Apartments is the best value for University of Nevada students. We offer free Wi-Fi/DSL to every bedroom. That free Wi-Fi would cost you $540 per year at other apartment complexes or rental houses.

Interesting Fact: The largest Japanese population outside of Japan stands at 1.6 million people who live in Brazil.

Interesting fact: There is an island called “Just Enough Room,” where there’s just enough room for a tree and a house.

Laundry

Please be considerate of your neighbors and do not leave your clothes in the washers or dryers unattended after the washing and drying cycle.

For Your Safety

The safety of our residents is of the highest priority. The College Courtyard Apartments are under 24-hour video surveillance and all entrances are gated. You can do your part to make sure the College Courtyard Apartments are a secure and safe place to live. Never give your key or garage transmitter to others. Report any damage or repairs that may be necessary to maintain safe conditions. That would include lights out in the common areas, parking garage, stairwells, front entrance and laundry rooms.

Interesting Fact: Nowadays, millionaires with just $1 million aren’t considered wealthy anymore by most Americans. Now, the typical American sees at least $2.4 million as wealthy.

No Beer Kegs

Beer kegs are strictly forbidden at the College Courtyard Apartments.  Kegs are not allowed on the courtyard or in individual apartments. All of your leases clearly state that large gatherings are prohibited. Kegs are only for large gatherings. Please be aware that if you bring a keg onto the property, we will begin eviction proceedings immediately.

Garbage Tossing Is Not Sport

Please be considerate and do not throw your garbage from the stairwell landing towards the dumpster. Many times, your aim is not on target and a mess is created.  This is both unsightly and unsanitary. We would appreciate your cooperation.
